THE CALVERT FUND
“With our rich heritage of excellence, it’s critical that we are able to respond to current demands, including COVID-19, and future opportunities.”

Betsey Hobelmann ’87, P’17, P’19, P’22
Trustee, Co-Chair of the Alumni Division
The Calvert Fund is the School’s philanthropic lifeblood. Strong support of the Fund is essential to our students’ continued success. The Fund impacts everything that makes a Calvert School education so special – teachers, academics, athletics, music, art, financial aid, and faculty development.

It is Calvert’s largest source of unrestricted operating dollars and provides flexibility in meeting new challenges as they arise, including COVID-19. Unrestricted gifts raised through annual giving meet operating budget needs the year they are provided and close the gap between tuition and the full cost of a Calvert education.
Our longterm goal is to derive 8%-10% of the annual operating budget from the Calvert Fund. To that end, pledges to the capital campaign will include pledges to the Calvert Fund. This approach will provide everyone in our community – alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and other friends – the opportunity to participate in a way that profoundly affects campus life.
